I spent the better part of the day electronically filing my taxes. Turbo Tax is actually not so Turbo...it freezes up every time you hit the "continue" button and generally acts like a stubborn 2 year old. I wanted to throw my computer, who is typically very easy going and a joy to work with. I had to walk away from the process several times between the program logging me off, losing my info., and asking me for information that I was clueless of. This afternoon I finally finished the process. And at the end of it all...SURPRISE to me...I get to pay the state of Colorado $1.00. I guess when I weigh the cost benefit for all that this great state has offered me the last 6 months, $1, is a small price to pay. But really, really?
I am a transplanted Denver resident... just finished my M.A. in counseling, which will soon turn into three letters by my name...L.P.C...not soon enough. I love people, traveling, different cultures, the mountains, babies, hard laughter, and my family. It's not fair to the rest of the world that only a few of us get to live in Colorado. I love walking through hard things with people and seeing redemption come to their lives. And I have a secret obsession with hip hop.
