I've been back in Denver since last Wednesday night, but I just now feel like I am really back. The first few days of hazy jet lag and wierd tossing and turning nights of sleep made for a rocky welcome home even though I was still experiencing the sheer bliss of my trip. But I think I'm finally settled into new normal. And I posted my trip photos, which means that it is officially not vacation time anymore. Bittersweet. Here is a link to Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 to see them on my FB. And you did read that correctly...TWO volumes of photos, which is really only like 350 and that was whittled down from the original 800 and something I downloaded off of my camera. That's what happens when you travel the world alone...you take pictures. So only undertake the endeavor of perusing the massive amounts of photos if you are:
A. Recovering from massive surgery and are bored in the hospital.
B. In need of some inspiration via lame attempts at witty photo comments.
C. Your door at work is closed because you are working on a "project."
D. You are planning a random trip to Jordan and various parts of Europe and need some ideas of photo ops...I can help you with that one.
E. All of the above.
As to what I am doing now...well, for now I am THOROUGHLY enjoying being done with school, working full time at Christy Sports (the ski shop I have worked at the last few seasons I have lived in Denver), riding my bike, Beatrice, to work everyday, and nannying for Truman. The question of the hour is, "Calley, you just graduated with your masters. Whey haven't you found a job as a counselor?" Good question, I say. Truly. It is. And the answer goes a little something like this: Well, the thing is... I have applied for roughly 30 jobs over the course of the last two months and ended up with one interview for a job that just wasn't going to work.
During my time overseas my heart was totally changed and I was reminded what life is really about...living life with Jesus. I mean, I try to live for him, but life WITH him is a completely different thing. With that in mind, when I was in Amsterdam he asked me to spend 40 days just worshipping him. I agreed, because when I am honest, most of my worship and prayers revolve around getting answers, direction, etc. So, yes, my life needs direction, but first I just need some Jesus time. Which has been abundantly more than I could have asked or imagine and it's only day 6!
Here's one of my new favorites...
More soon...
