After 47 hours of travel I am back in Tulsa. It was pretty uneventful, except for the Liberian in Accra who asked me to marry him while I was on the way to the mall. I had to turn down the generous offer.
I took a photo of my feet in the Heathrow airport with Ghanaian dirt still crusted on. This was really amusing to me. And I'm sure the people sitting around me in the waiting area were wondering why I needed photos of my feet. I tried to disguise it by acting like I was reviewing photos already on the camera.
Everything is still really surreal. I know we were only gone 2.5 weeks, but the pace of Northern Ghana made it feel like a month. In the best way. Each day had so many different events and facets, even if it was just meeting new people or learning to cook a new food. It's one of my favorite things about Africa.
The dirt is now cleaned off my feet and a new week is about to begin. My challenge now is to transition from Ghana life back to Tulsa life. It makes my brain feel very fuzzy.
