The Art of Flexibility

Many of you know I departed for Africa yesterday-hopeful and expectant. As it turns out I am currently at my sweet friend Leah's flat in London. And Drew, my cousin and travel partner, is on a plane to Accra, Ghana. "Weren't you both supposed to be on that plane?" you might ask. Yes...I was 20 minutes away from being on the plane when the unpleasant British Airways woman told me it was too late to check my bags and put them on the plane (the plane sat on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate, our bags took FOREVER to arrive, followed by a late train to terminal four at Heathrow.) In fact, it was too late for me to get on the plane at all. I tried everything...begging, pleading, promising my first-born. No luck. These Brits can be harsh...I wanted to cry, to throw some kind of tantrum to prove how desperate I was.
Then I was reminded of the first talk I ever had with Johnson and Lydia Asare over chicken when I arrived with them 3 years ago...above all stay flexible. You never know what God wants to do in a given situation. Our plans are not always his plans. In my heart I am so disappointed that it will be two days (at best) until I get to my other home, but I am believing that good things will come from this stop-over.
Please pray for safety for Drew as he travels alone. And please pray that I will make it on the flight tomorrow.
Love to all of you. And I DID get first class from Tulsa to London...so don't feel too sorry for me.

Ready to go...

We had a few issues with the luggage cart...

So how did Drew get on the plane and you didn't?!

And, is it just a coincidence that there are question marks over both your heads in the first picture?

Best of luck! Enjoy London!

Love,
Karen
