Lesley and I watched "An Inconvenient Truth" last night. Overall it was a good experience. It was a little crazy watching the simulation of Antarctica and the North Pole both melting at once and seeing sea level rise so much that Miami was wiped off the map. Regardless of the hype and the controversy, he definitely has my attention. Actually, I think I have even talked my dad into watching the DVD even though he thinks Al Gore to be sub-human. So if Gary Wayne can do it, so can you.
There was one thing about a polar bear who drowned because so much ice was melted in the North Pole that he couldn't find a big enough chunk to rest on.
Another crazy thing is how so many bugs are invading the world (thus, disease as well) because of the climate change. Malaria continues to ravage Africa as the globe heats up and the President wants to do something about it and people (I won't mention names), complain that so much money is going to help other countries such as Africa when that money could be "helping out at home..." when really it's or fault because there haven't been fuel emission limits in years. Whew...somebody get me to the Miss America pageant...I've got a platform.
Truly inspired, Les and I calculated our carbon footprints on the Inconvenient Truth web site:
www.climatecrisis.net/takeaction/carboncalculator/
I think the fact that I am a travel junkie plays a big part in all of this. Who knew that air travel contributed so much to the CO2?
Unplug your appliances before bed tonight...and don't plant trees in permafrost. It just doesn't last.

I have been wanting to rent that movie. I care alot about environmental stuff and think it is awesome that that dude is taking such a stand. You should also watch the movie "The Corporation" - it is really good and also talks about environmental stuff. This one guy owns a major carpet manufacturing company in the states and once he realized how bad it was for the environment he totally turned his company around and made his carpets enviro-friendly. Pretty sweet! The polar bear situation is pretty sad... I love polar bears! It is so unfortunate because they can do nothing to control their situation at all.
I am really proud to now live in the only city in all of Canada... and maybe North America... maybe the world?? that is powered 100% by windpower! Did you know that? The government spent hundreds of millions of dollars on hundreds of windmills and made a windmill farm on the shore of Lake Superior west of the Sault! Sweet!
Hey I live there too sexy lady! Fly Vee...is that short for Virginia? I think I'm in love with you. Anyway love...and Calley too since this is her blog...I calculated our carbon print to be 2.2 each. The only pollution we make is driving around our car...but it's a standard so it's better. not to mention we recycle and you're vegetarian and I'm quasitarian...if it wasn't for your father's sweet yummy cow.
