Magic in '07
There is about 3 ft. of ice outside my house right now. I can' t think of a better time to reflect on the year. Thanks to KT for providing this nice and compact year in review ( I added two questions). Here's to Magic in '07...
1. Where did you ring in the New Year?
Meg and I made stir fry and watched Crash at my house because I had to work the next day.
2. What was your status by Valentine's Day? We took the Youth Group to the Nicole Nordeman and Casting Crowns concert...hmmm. Don't think I'll repeat that one.
3. Were you in school? No, just thinking about it.
4. How did you earn your keep? Working at FUMC Tulsa and part-timing at Backwoods. I had a ton of sweet housesitting gigs too. That was nice.
5. Where did you go on vacation? The Rocky Mountains, Cape Cod, Destin, Sundridge, Ontario, NYC in that order...and back to The Rockies to ring in the new year!
6. Did you purchase anything over $500? A car and a Mac. It was a big year.
7. Have you run into anyone you graduated high school with? They are everywhere now that I am in Tulsa. We always swap numbers and no one ever calls. The only way to truly keep in touch is myspace and facebook. So non-threatening, the digital age.
8. Did you move anywhere? We moved a few miles to a house we remodeled with our bare hands. And put 8 coats of red paint on the dining room walls. I love it.
9. What sporting events did you go to? Mostly jr. and sr. high football games and basketball games. Gotta support the kids.
10. What concerts did you go to? see number 2, Coldplay, thought about going to see Cyndi Lauper.
11. Where do you live now? (see #8)
12. Describe your birthday: I worked at Backwoods in the a.m. When I came home, Abbey told me none of my friends could do anything so I sat on the couch listening to David Gray for awhile. We got in a fight because she was mad at me for being so melancholy, I went to the Church administrative board meeting, and went to my mom's where there was a huge surprise party. I felt like an idiot, but we all had a good laugh at my expense. Learned a very valuable lesson.
13. What is one thing you regretted this year? Freaking out about Abbey and Trey
14. What did you learn about yourself? I have to live with desire, but not the weight of desire. It almost suffocated me. (dramatic, but true)
15. What from pop culture will you remember 2006 by? The year I decided it was ok to be on facebook and myspace. (and not just say I'm doing it to keep up with my students)
16. What was the most surprising thing of 2006? That I'm still single...kidding, I expected to be more international...but I only made it to Canada. That sounds snotty, but at the beginning of the year there was a plan for me to lead a trip to Ghana. It didn't happen, then I gave up my spot in the Dominican. And I wore leggings.
17. What are your goals for 2007? Be a responsible student, track my finances on the worksheet Preston made me, go back to Africa.
(Guys, two posts in two weeks...I think that's a record)
