Spelt, Stevia, and Soba

Sweet Soba Noodles... This is the first week in a 6 week cleanse passed down from cousin Mollie. The first two weeks involve a transition diet, which means no sugar, wheat, caffeine, dairy or anything processed. only organic, whole foods. the 4th and 5th week are only whole foods and the last two weeks are a mix of three day fasts. One is a brown rice fast where you eat a teaspoon of brown rice when you are hungry. that will be a lot of brown rice for me... i know it sounds wierd. i spent two hours at Wild Oats the other day, which really is a waste of time in the long run, but i have never learned so much about food. in the middle of one of the aisles i thought...maybe this is just dumb, crazy, obsessive compulsive, etc. So i thought about why i really want to spend 6 weeks of my life doing a cleansing diet that includes tea made out of dandelions, but it has started to make sense for a few reasons: 1. It is great discipline. Plus, with my need for adventure, excitement, and intensity it sort of fits the bill within my given perameters. 2. I have a Mt. McKinley training program i want to start so i can be ready at any time to fulfill the dream, but my body has to be ready for that. (If anyone ever offers me an opportunity to do this i never want to turn them down because i am in bad condition...life is too short) 3. I am doing a Leviticus precept study and learning so much about holiness. I want to clean the crap out of my life spiritually and physically. This time is symbolic of the my life as a whole. Once again, it is all very good. Trey and Abbey even liked the veggie stir fry with buckwheat Soba noodles (or else they are very good liars!). It also had julienned chicken dogs in it...if you come to my house i will make you some!!

spelt...yummm.
good thing i left after about 10 minutes. 2 hours of you walking down the aisles talking to yourself would probably be a lot more than i can handle.
